Understanding the structure of Soroptimist International
Soroptimist of Music City Nashville is far more than a local club. We belong to the largest and oldest professional women’s organization in the world. There are approximately 76,000 Soroptimists in over 120 countries and territories. The graph provides a picture of the structure of this world-wide group of women.
We begin by joining a local club (SI Music City Nashville), which is one of several in a District (District III).
District III is one of three in the region (Southern Region). Our region is one of many regions in Soroptimist International of the Americas.
Soroptimist of the Americas is one of four federations, which also include SI of Europe, SI of Great Britain & Ireland, and SI of the Western Pacific. All federations make up Soroptimist International.
We meet with members of our District each year to network and share ideas. All members of the Districts participate in a Region Conference each spring. Every two years our Federation of the Americas convene for a Biennial Conference someplace in the Americas and every four years an International Conferences is held with women all over the world.
